Power Skating Clinic starting 7/20/2018

We are excited to announce that Kathy McLIwain will be back again to South Metro Sportsplex to host a Power Skating Clinic!  

With the incorporation of Off-Ice training in our Performance Enhancement Center, this is a MUST for all players wanting to improve their skills!

Adult Basic Skills 1-6 Wednesday 5:15 starting 8/8/2018

The Adult curriculum is designed for the beginner adult skater.  It will promote physical fitness and improve balance and coordination while teaching proper skating techniques.  Divided into six levels, adult skaters will progress at an individual rate while being challenged and motivated.   For skaters 17 and up.

Basic Skills 1 Wednesday 5:15 pm starting 8/8/2018

The Basic Skills are the fundamentals of the sport.  Skaters who have never taken lessons before will begin in the Basic 1 level.  The six levels of the Basic Skills program introduce the fundamental moves: forward skating, backward skating, stops, edges, crossovers, turns.  Upon completion of the Basic 1-6 levels, skaters will have a basic knowledge of the sport enabling them to advance to more specialized areas of skating.  After completing each level, skaters will progress to the subsequent levels.  For skaters age 6-16.

The Free Skate levels are designed to give skaters a strong foundation on which to build their skills. This is the point where the skater can choose whether to pursue a Recreational or competitive approach to the sport of skating. Participants must have completed Basic Skills 6 & Pre Free Skate to take this class. 

Free Skate 2 Wednesday 5:15 pm starting 8/8/2018

Each Free Skate level is divided into four sections, moves in the field, spins, dance/footwork sections, jumps. The Free Skate levels are designed to give skaters a strong foundation on which to build their skills. The Free Skate levels are designed to give skaters a strong foundation on which to build their skills. This is the point where the skater can choose whether to pursue a Recreational or competitive approach to the sport of skating. Participants must have completed Basic Skills 6 to take this class. 

Snowplow Sam 1 Wednesday 5:15pm starting 8/8/2018

The Snowplow Sam levels are designed to help the preschool-age skater develop preliminary coordination and strength to maneuver on the ice.  There are 4 levels of Snowplow Sam.  Skaters who have never taken lessons before will begin in the Snowplow Sam 1 level.  After completing each level, skaters will progress to the subsequent levels.  Snowplow Sam is for skaters age 3-5.
